  • 120/240V PCB Mounted

    These printed circuit board mounting transformers, constructed on the latest double section metric bobbins, have been designed to meet International standards and are fitted with new style pin terminals for better reliability.

    With the exception of the 3VA and 6VA transformers 4-hole laminations are used to provide secure board mounting. Each unit has two independent primary windings for 120V and 240V working. Dual secondaries provide a range of low voltage outputs with centre tap facilities. The alternative 6VA and 12VA multi-tapped printed circuit mounting transformers are based on two imperial sized bobbins with pins on a 0.1′ grid. These are pin compatible with other industry standard types and may be connected for 110V, 220V and 240V working. Both constructions are designed to meet the insulation requirements of BS3535 (EN60742) and BS415.

    Power Rating: 0.7 – 30VA.

  • Euro (230V) PCB Mounted

    A range of PCB mounting transformers designed using flame retardant materials to UL94V0. The double bobbin construction is used throughout the range and all transformers are varnish protected. The primary winding is designed for use with the new harmonised input voltage of 230V, therefore the output voltages will be slightly higher at 240V.

    The 3VA units have skeined primary windings as standard. Two independant secondary windings may be connected in either series or parallel format and offer industry standard output voltages.In addition to our regular electrical and safety tests applied to all our products, we carry out extra continuity tests on the primary windings of 3VA and 6VA open frame transformers. This extra 100% inspection is an assurance to our customers and a confirmation of the importance attached to quality control of all our products. These transformers are designed to meet the safety requirements of EN60742 and EN60950 and are 100% tested for their safety critical features.

    Power Rating: 0.7 – 30VA.

  • Chassis Mounted

    A range of chassis mounting mains transformers in eight power ratings from 6VA to 200VA. Each transformer has two independent primary windings which may be connected in series for 240V or parallel for 120V working.

    All versions have dual secondary windings to provide a flexible output range or centre tap working. The double bobbin construction provides the insulation characteristics required by BS415 for 6VA – 12VA and BS3535 (EN60742) for 15VA – 200VA.

    This range of chassis mounting transformers has been designed for use with the harmonised European voltage (230v). The single primary design provides significant cost savings and the considerable ease of designing in and stocking just one transformer for the UK and European market.

    Construction is based on a double section bobbin, fully shrouded and varnished with flame retardant materials to UL94-VO. The terminations are push-on style which can be used for either push on or soldered connections. Two independant secondary windings are provided, suitable for connection in series or parallel, provide a wide and flexible range of output voltage options. The transformers are designed to meet the safety requirements of EN60950 and EN60742 and are 100% tested for their safety critical features.

    Power Rating: 6 – 250VA.

  • Open Form Toroidal Transformers (115/230V)

    A range of high quality toroidal transformers with twin 115V primary windings and a comprehensive choice of secondary voltages. The primary windings can be connected in series or parallel to cater for 115V or 230V 50/60Hz AC inputs. All transformers are designed and manufactured in accordance with IEC65, UL506, UL1411 and UL478. The transformers are CE marked.

    All leads for both primary and secondary are double-insulated flexible lead wire with stripped wire ends giving the opportunity for reduced assembly time. Because there are no air gaps in the core, there are no vibrating laminations and the reluctance is low, giving lower magnetising currents with savings in power loss. A further benefit of the gapless core is the reduced level of radiated electrical noise (hum field). The low profile construction of the toroid and the saving in weight compared to the conventional laminated transformers makes this range particularly attractive for compact power supplies and slimline equipment.

    Each transformer is supplied with a complete fixing kit of one dished metal washer, 2 rubber pads, bolt, nut and washer.

    Power Rating: 11 – 5000VA.

  • Chokes

    Our series of single-phase chokes was designed for use as a power-, commutation-, smoothing- or PFC choke. The unit size of the choke is defined via the energy E = 0.5 x L x I2, depending on what your requirements towards acceptable warming levels are. Using a smoothing- or commutation choke in DC circuits helps dampen the harmonics, reach a lower ripple, overcome power interruptions and limit the peak current. Using a PFC or line reactor will dampen harmonics as well. A  power choke has the additional advantage of a starting current limitation.
